Financial Accounting and Reporting Supervisor


Position Purpose
This position is a key member of the FIBI North America Financial Accounting and Reporting team focused on developing and engaging the analysts and senior analysts that support the Financial Accounting and Reporting Leads. This role is also a key partner with our CBS colleagues, driving for a One Finance Team culture. This position is responsible for the oversight and execution of key accounting and finance activities for the North America businesses in the FIBI Enterprise. These are activities related to financial reporting including closing and analysis, and various other retained accounting and finance activities. The primary accountabilities of this role are to build and develop a high performing team, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of retained accounting and finance processes through migration of work, alignment of processes, and collaboration with teams spanning across product groups, across functions, and across enterprises. This role is a leader in driving efficient, well controlled, top-quartile financial services to and on behalf of the business with key focus on change leadership, talent management, and creating business-focused and process-aligned teams. This job requires highly effective people and change leadership skills, strong understanding of the functions and systems in Cargill, a track record of effective collaboration, and bias for continuous improvement.
Principal Accountabilities
50% Develop and Manage High Performance Team
Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement of the team.
Establish clear performance and development goals, expectations, and metrics.
Create a culture focused on curiosity, continuous improvement, and personal and professional development.
Provide real time coaching, feedback and recognition to ensure the team is meeting the finance objectives.
Inspire a shared sense of purpose and direction with excitement for the future. Lead team through significant change using change management solutions to reinforce overall finance vision.
40% Financial Accounting and Reporting
Oversee team in the execution of finance and accounting activities required to support the Financial Accounting Reporting Leads and the businesses.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis of business performance. Partner effectively with Financial Accounting and Reporting Leads, FP&A and business partners for reporting and data needs.
Hold self and team accountable for delivering results, and leads in the continuous improvement of finance activities; collaborating across functions and enterprises.
Champion efforts to ensure controls and compliance measures are in place for all reported financial information and/or business processes.
Provide leadership in identifying migration of work to FSS, and support deployment of SAP or other technologies according to project plans.
10%Change Leadership through Process Optimization and Technology driven decision making
Collaborate with other accounting and finance leads across the enterprises and domains including MIDS and PI, to identify opportunities for use of technology solutions to simplify and standardize.
Lead team through change by identifying and implementing process simplification, standardization and improvement while proactively pursuing shared services optimization.
Address fragmentation of work across teams.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree in Finance or Accounting
English Proficiency
Strong accounting experience with very good technical knowledge
Demonstrated change agility.
Demonstrated ability to create a team culture of continuous improvement, process optimization, and intellectual curiosity
Demonstrated experience and success in managing teams and motivating for high performance
Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience.
5 years of direct management or equivalent experience
Experience leading an organization successfully through change
International business experience
Experience in commodity trading business
Understanding and experience working with JDE, SAP, and Lynx

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
