Regional Chemistry Leader

Description  Position Purpose & Summary Provide direction and leadership in the areas of process measurement & analytics across the region. Develop a strategy and lead the implementation of programs to deliver reliable, validated, cost effective and sustainable solutions to the regional businesses while remaining aligned to the broader Cargill approach. Innovate and drive continuous improvement in measuring & testing applications in a way that generates value to the businesses.  Partner effectively with operations to drive improvements in process management and in producing quality products.  In those regions where no CoE Teams have been in place, work with other Analytical CoE Leaders around the world of Cargill to create an organization that accelerates quality processes and analytical performance for the region.  Hire, select and mentor the staff necessary to accomplish these objectives.  The incumbent will interface with business and group  leaders in the region and with functional leaders in FSQR, OPS and CI globally on a regular basis.  This CoE, when properly staffed and led, can have annual impacts in the millions of dollars to tens of millions of dollars. Principal Accountabilities 40% Partner with other regional Analytical Chemistry CoE Leaders (3 others globally) to establish and build out the NA and other regions Analytical Chemistry Organizations to meet the business needs of the region and the world.  Partner with the regional businesses in developing a high performing and connected team that is focused on delivering value to the regional businesses and ensuring trusted and reliable analytical results.  Build a CoE team and approach that incorporates a continuous improvement mind-set in collaboration with CI, OPS and FSQR teams across the businesses.  This will eventually include leads and sub teams for the 6 main themes of work of the CoE across the Groups within  the Food Ingredient and BioIndustrial and also across other Enterprises as well, including ongoing work with Cargill Ag Supply Chain, Cargill Animal Nutrition, Salt and Malt. 25% Develop and lead the implementation of a Rapid Analytical Techniques strategy and plan for the Global Cargill Starches, Sweeteners, and Texturizers Group following the model for the plan developed and implemented for Global Edible Oil Solutions and Global Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate. 20% Where practical, and for common analytical technologies i.e. NIR, HPLC, GC, etc., the incumbent will lead the implementation of a connected analytical approach across businesses of the region and across regions globally.  This position will secure and lead the resources to build and maintain analytical calibrations or standards, and to do so in the most efficient and cost effective way for the Region. 10% Influence and partner with internal stakeholders such as Operations, R&D and Manufacturing Technology to develop analytical solutions for new projects, emerging issues, or in-line measurement opportunities. Assess and optimize analytical testing and lab staffing / required skill sets across the NA region including testing optimization and overseeing the management of testing / laboratory facilities including third-party labs. 5% Innovate and drive continuous improvement in measuring & testing applications in a way that generates value to the businesses. Location: The preferred location for the position is Wayzata, MN although this may sit in any of our Food Ingredient and BioIndustrial plant locations in the U.S.  Qualifications  Minimum requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology, Food Science or related field 10+ years of professional Quality and Food Safety experience; with a majority of time in a food, feed or feed ingredient manufacturing company. Statistical process management knowledge. Intermediate HACCP Knowledge/Implementation - Applies HACCP to identify and control food safety hazards. Advanced Plant Manufacturing Quality Knowledge - Demonstrates practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations. Intermediate Business Acumen - Applies deep and practical business acumen to partner effectively with business counterparts. High Managing and Improving FSQR Processes - Delivers processes that are aligned, effective, and optimize Cargill resources. Basic Knowledge of Cargill Policies & Standards - Applies enterprise policy and standards to enhance food safety and quality. High Project Management - Applies a structured, disciplined approach to planning, administering and completing projects successfully. Intermediate External Partnering - Builds relationships and negotiates effectively with external groups. Intermediate Training / Meeting Management - Delivers learning solutions in a manner that engages learners and produces desired outcomes. Basic Scientific Knowledge - Applies scientific knowledge, principles to identify and manage risks. Basic Product Information/Documentation - Prepares product information and documentation that meet regulatory compliance requirements. Basic Risk Assessment - Conducts and communicates the results of a scientific evaluation of the known or potential adverse health effects resulting from human or animal exposure to food borne hazards. Basic Knowledge of Quality Standards & Quality Tools - Applies knowledge of quality standards and tools to enhance food safety and quality. Preferred qualifications: BS Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Animal Science or related field  Advanced degree in a relevant area    International Experience - Ability to achieve results in a global environment with diverse groups of people Regulatory Experience Managerial Experience in a Plant Environment Use of statistical tools Knowledge & training in continuous improvement tools Advanced Business Acumen - Applies deep and practical business acumen to partner effectively with business counterparts. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
