Management Accounting and Reporting Manager

Position Purpose
This position will provide accounting and finance expertise for our businesses within the FIBI enterprise. The Management Accounting and Reporting Manager role is a challenging opportunity to learn the complexities of the diverse businesses within FIBI NA utilizing strong accounting, business acumen, and people leadership skills. The primary accountabilities of this role are to build and develop a high performing team, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of retained accounting processes through migration of work, alignment of processes, and collaboration with teams spanning across product groups, across functions, and across enterprises. This team is responsible for the accuracy of business financial statements utilizing deep understanding of accounting processes as well as development of strong business partnerships to deliver key management reports and analytics necessary to enhance decision making within FIBI NA.
This role is a leader in driving efficient, well controlled, top-quartile accounting services to and on behalf of the business with key focus on change leadership, talent management, and creating business-focused and process-aligned teams. This job requires highly effective people and change leadership skills, strong understanding of the functions and systems in Cargill, a track record of effective collaboration, and bias for continuous improvement.
Principal Accountabilities
50% Develop and Manage High Performance Team
  • Accountable for talent development, work/resource organization/planning, performance management, succession planning, engagement, selection and onboarding for the Accounting and Reporting team within FIBI NA.
  • Establish clear performance and development goals, expectations, and metrics.
  • Create a culture focused on curiosity, continuous improvement, and personal and professional development.
  • Provide real time coaching, feedback and recognition to ensure the team is meeting the finance objectives.
  • Inspire a shared sense of purpose and direction with excitement for the future. Lead team through significant change using change management solutions to reinforce overall finance vision.
20% Management Accounting and Reporting
  • Analyzes and reviews management reports/packages. Provides direction, coaching and feedback to assure that the management reports are consistent, accurate, and value added. Management reports may include: period end results and commentary, budgets, forecasts and supporting commentary, customer and product profitability reports, and other adhoc management reporting.
  • Applies a broad level of understanding to challenge and review analysis and reporting that has been performed by the team. This analysis will include month end results, balance sheet and income statement trend analysis, Lower Level Financial Statement review, annual budgets, and other monthly and quarterly reporting requirements. Included in this analysis will be supporting documentation and commentary on variances and identification and communication of risks and recommendations on areas of opportunity.
  • Build strong partnerships with business partners and collaborate on financial reconciliations and problem solving across various teams including Financial Accounting and Reporting team, COE s., CBS locations, and across businesses.
  • Provides thought leadership on technology needs and strategy. Partners with MIDS to leverage technology and systems to reduce manual effort.
15% Continuous Improvement
  • Leads in continuous improvement efforts to drive process optimization and improve the efficiency of management accounting and finance activities across businesses.
  • Partners with leaders (e. g. CBS, A&F, FP&A and other COEs) to develop and maintain an industry leading finance function through process simplification, standardization and optimization of management accounting and reporting processes.
  • Responsible for leading and implementing shared service optimization opportunities within management accounting and reporting.
15% Financial Operations and Controls
  • Develops and implements the strategy, plan and processes to deliver well-controlled, top-quartile accounting and finance operations required to support our businesses.
  • Drives implementation and execution of key controls in our processes, ensuring that our accounting/operational processes are in compliance with GAAP, Cargill s policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Partner to ensure compliance with the financial control framework and that financial controls are designed properly and operating effectively across end-to-end financial processes
  • Manages overall accounting processes executed by the management reporting team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of accounting experience or financial reporting
  • 2 years of direct management
  • English Proficiency
  • Strong leadership, team building, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong accounting experience with very good technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated change agility.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 years of accounting experience.
  • 5 years of direct management or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading an organization successfully through change
  • Experience in commodity trading business
  • Understanding and experience working with JDE, SAP, and Lynx
  • Experience in analyzing profitability at various levels (customer, product).


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
