North America Compensation Specialist

Position Purpose & Summary

The North America Compensation Specialist utilizes general knowledge to administer processes related to the delivery of compensation solutions to managers and employees. Responsibilities require performing compensation activities for managers and employees with supervision. Finally, this position is expected to participate in research, analysis, and compensation projects as required.
As a member of the North America Compensation & Mobility team, this position will be engaged with continuing to transform our current services to the Solution Delivery Model (SDM). This includes adopting regional based services for Compensation which is global. To be successful, this position must be comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Principal Accountabilities
70% Development, implementation, execution (under supervision)
Executes and maintains compensation strategies, policies, programs and processes such as the annual compensation process and market pricing, with general supervision
Provides consulting to clients and stakeholders regarding the interpretation and delivery of existing compensation policies, programs, and processes, with general supervision.
Advocate for solutions that meet or exceed needs for Compensation areas. If necessary, support research and best practice assessment to create innovative solutions.
Provides input to support implementation of changes or new activities, including activities to support training and issue resolution.
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Collaborate and champion change with key internal and external stakeholders and peers to ensure acceptance of new solutions and related processes.
Responding to client-related requests, as appropriate

15% Relationship Management
Create opportunities for long-term working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including process and technology teams, vendors, and business partners.
Support the Cargill SDM and reinforce its utilization with key stakeholders and clients.
15% Other
Participate in various global compensation projects or initiatives.
Complete research and analysis on market trends, impact assessment, market data, emerging market assessment, etc. Based on research and analysis, proposes changes, if necessary, to compensation strategy, principles, programs and processes.
Utilize reports/materials appropriately with clients to create insights and understanding of compensation decisions, patterns, and compliance.
Support total rewards change initiatives.
This position will be posted internally and externally.
Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree
2 + years of working experience in Compensation
Demonstrated interest in total rewards programs or policies and a desire for professional growth
Ability to execute processes and HR solutions
Strong analytical abilities and excel skills
Ability to challenge the status quo
Independent thinker and problem solver
Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and interface effectively within and cross-functionally in a team environment
Ability to handle highly confidential information
Demonstrated track record in taking initiative, working independently and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated willingness and ability to partner, build, and sustain positive working relationships
Able to perform successfully in ambiguous environment

Strong written communication skills, including documenting complex processes, preparing communications and presentation materials
Preferred Qualifications

Completion of some total rewards certification classes or modules
3+ years of Human Resources/Business experience and/or systems related position
3 + years of working experience Compensation
Proven ability to effectively deliver global projects and processes in Total Rewards
Experience consulting with some stakeholder groups (i. e. Business HR, Managers/Employees, COEs)
Demonstrated experience participating in change efforts characterized by effective communications and strong partnerships
Strong oral communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate, influence, and negotiate with and present to multiple levels of management
Demonstrated track record in promoting an inclusive environment and seeking ways to integrate differences
Strong business acumen
Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical level



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
