Position Overview:
This North American \(NA\) regional position will be responsible for leading the Cargill Transportation& Logistics \(CTL\) international logistics \(container\) transportation modeand be responsible to build, lead and implement Cargill?s NA container strategy as part of the global container strategy\.You will also develop new/growth opportunities, expand Cargill?s use of container freight and lead the regional container team\.
Principal Accountabilities:
40% \- Strategy and Planning:
+ Deeply understand the NA Container market as part of the global container market and translate this into longer term impact to Cargill container supply chains in terms of rates, capacity and service\.
+ Lead the development and implementation of the regional container vision and strategy\. Partner and align with other container regions and modes to identify and pursue new container business opportunities and models for growth\.
+ Ensure longer term container capacity and market access\.
+ Create optimal setup between container mode, deployment team, data & analytics team and Cargill Business Service centers\. Build and lead the regional Container team and ensure common processes \(e\.g\., Cargill Strategic Sourcing\) and tools \(e\.g\., GT Nexus\) are consistently implemented and aligned with CTL?s regional Container strategy\.
25% \- Service performance Management:
+ Understand Cargill BG requirements and translate these into service standards\. Accountable for the service delivery of ocean carriers\.
+ Manage the overall vendor relationship with ocean carriers and apply the global carrier segmentation
+ Establish and deliver on mode metrics to monitor and continuously improve carrier performance\.
20% \- Sourcing Execution:
+ Manage the regional container related spend and establish bid strategies for the different business groups\.
+ Manage the sourcing events and lead the contract negotiations during the bid process\.
+ Ensure smooth implementation management of contracts including operational setup with selected container lines\.
5% \- OtherDuties as Required
Qualifications
Required:
+ BA / BS University Degree
+ 8 years of experience working in Transportation, Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial Management and/or Trading
+ 3 years of International Logistics \(Container\) experience
+ Experience with customer and vendor relationship management and negotiation
+ Experience leading the development and execution of a strategy in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and interests
+ Understanding of the Container market and translate that knowledge into short and long term strategies
+ Financial acumen, including strong analytical skills; experience with scorecards/metrics
