TCF Bank currently has an opening for a Financial Analyst III, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis at our Wayzata location.
The Financial Analyst III, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis will involve substantial coordination with finance personnel and management throughout the company. This dynamic and fast-paced position is expected to play a significant role in the timely and accurate delivery of TCF''s monthly forecast, semi-annual stress test, management reporting and insightful margin analysis.
Specific job duties of this position:
Assists with delivery of TCF's monthly forecast, and semi-annual stress test.
Prepares monthly variance commentary, researching and comparing actual results to forecast.
Assists with quarter end board presentation materials for senior management.
Utilizes strong analytical skills to simplify and enhance complex margin model resulting in effective and insightful analysis.
Rationalizes current process and makes impactful recommendations for process improvements to increase efficiency.
Develops expertise of Essbase financial system as well as gains an in depth understanding of the hierarchy structure, methodology, and purpose to become an Essbase power user.
Timely and accurately responds to ad hoc requests.
Qualifications: Candidates for this position must meet the following requirements:
4-6 years of previous work experience in related Accounting or Finance positions is required. Previous experience with planning and forecasting processes, analyses and systems is required. Knowledge of and/or experience with the financial services industry would also be considered a plus.
A Bachelor''s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is required. Candidates with experience equal to a degree plus the required experience will be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree. Applicants with professional certification (CFA, CFM, or CPA) or an advanced degree would be preferred.
Must also be able to demonstrate proficiency with the following skills:
Strong/advanced end-user computing skills including Microsoft Excel and Hyperion Essbase
Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and technical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to be flexible and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be an adaptive learner who is able to grasp and apply new concepts in a timely manner
Proven ability to work with all levels of personnel, including management
Ability to effectively apply business knowledge to meaningful analysis
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical research and reports and apply information to specific business situations
Previous leadership and project management experience
